Volkssporting started in Germany and is a personal fitness sports and recreation club offering noncompetitive walks, bikes, swims and hikes. Our club is a part of the American Volkssport Association #0994. ava.org

Our team is made up of walkers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts, who are dedicated to providing outdoor experiences in Helen, Georgia.

Fun, Fitness, and Friendship 10k and 5k hikes and walk
The Alpine Helen Volksmarch includes a 10k and 5k hike along the Helen to Unicoi Trail. It also will feature a 5k easy walk along the Hardman Trail which is an easy path suitable for strollers, wheelchairs and dogs.
The Hikes and Walks will begin at the Bodensee Restaurant 64 Munich Strasse Helen, Georgia 30545
Registration will begin at 8:00am and continue through 11:00am.
Online, preregistration is encouraged. The first 200 who register will receive a swag bag with 2 bier coupons, German food coupon, raffle ticket and more!.. Walkups will be able to participate in the hike but may or may not receive a swag bag. The online registration is non-refundable. You may preregister for the event on the registration page.
German Festival after the Hike/Walks
Those who complete the walk/hike may participate in an authentic German festival featuring
German Bier, German Food and German Music
A raffle will be held with amazing prizes from Helen businesses. German attire is encouraged but not required. .
